USB Device Over Current Status Detected

On ASUS motherboards, one cause for the "USB Device Over Current Status Detected" error message on boot is missing jumpers on the pins controlling the "USB device wake-up" setting. This setting controls whether to wakeup the system from S1 or S3/S4 using the connected USB devices. Verify that jumpers are set to one of the two positions. Check your motherboard manual for the location of these jumpers.
